A big hi to one of our fraudsters who we haven't paid much attention to lately, that guy is, Charles L. Christensen or 'Chuckles' to his family and friends. Chuck is the invetor and seller of another dowsing rod scam this time from Utah in the USA. Chuck's scam is called the H3tec and claims to be able to do all the things the other swinging rod scammers claim. Below is a picture of Chuck's scam:

Note the laptop, apparently this is not just for show, this is to 'programme' the device to look for any manner of things from gold, to explosives, even cash. If ripping people off with the purchase price is not enough, Chuckles has put time locked software onto the laptop, so you have to renew your licence every year or it wont work! (how would you know?)

Chuck claimed some awards for his ~~scam~~ device, but our friend Peter took up the case, and he has had to now remove all reference to these awards, I'm sure he wasn't trying to fool people it was just an honest mistake, wasn't it Chuck?

Chuck stupidly also claimed senior military people were involved, (don't they all?) Where do they get all these ex military guys from? They all have them, Bolton GT200, McCormick ADE651, Vollmar HEDD1, there must be a 'General for hire website' somewhere but I can't find it.

A complaint has been made to the FBI in America, I will update a response if any.

A disturbing development reaches us (yet again). It would seem that one of our premier fraudsters is heading for pastures new. Yes, Gary Bolton is shutting shop and legging it to a non extradition country. Gary split up a while ago from his wife and company secretary, Heather, she was last heard off in Dubai. Having virtually abandoned his former marital abode in Gravesend, which is free from any mortgage and bought with £400,000 cash, he then set up a new love nest with the delightful Carly in, St Mary's Island, Chatham, Kent. Sadly neither he nor Carly have been seen here recently either.
Perhaps he is busy at his company's registered office, sadly not, he abandoned the company premises some months ago and the property is now up for re-let, with the company about to be struck off for failing to submit company records as required.
So it would appear that Gary has simply shut up shop and legged it with all the ill gotten loot from his fraud. So no accountability for all the people who have lost their lives as a result of this despicable fraud, and certainly no compensation to the Governments who spent millions thinking they were protecting their citizens using this scam device. Well done law enforcement.

ANOTHER TEST, ANOTHER FAILURE (HEDD1, Again!)

If ever proof were needed that the fraudsters should stay away from trying to show their devices work when they don't control the test, VOLLMAR and TRIER, again show why they all stay well away from independent testing. I have already published the Youtube when they tried to fool the Thais but were completely exposed. Now read another classic failure below, I have added some comments:

New bomb detector “Wünschel Dir was”.

A little black apparatus with a tuning antenna on top(Sound familiar?) could make the body-scanner controversy in Germany come to an end: The HEDD1 is supposed to(Emphasis on supposed) locate explosives from as far as 100 meters away, even through walls(I'll ask again, does this claim sound familiar?). If only there weren´t so many doubters(Thank you for the acknowledgement). Serge Debrebant (author), Bonn, Nora Schlüter (assistance)

It is an unpleasant winter's day, cold and damp, and the underground car park in Bonn where I find myself is not exactly welcoming. But I am accepting the circumstances because I am about to become witness of a security-technology revolution(LOL): The Unival company is demonstrating its bomb detector to me(No they are not, they are trying to fool you), a hand held device with the somewhat impersonal name "HEDD1"(Formerly known as SNIFFEX). Upon closer inspection, the 276 gr machinery looks like a black bicycle grip with some sort of antenna attached to it, which in turn will rotate towards the direction where the bomb is(Just like all the other frauds claim).

If you believe the manufacturer(NO), this device is more effective than any comparable bomb detectors on the market(There are NO comparable bomb detectors only comparable frauds). As a genuine(?) all-rounder, it may(There again it may not!) detect TNT, dynamite, liquid, plastic, and many other explosives from a distance of up to 100m. Even concrete walls are no obstacle(Off course it can, it just can't be proven or shown to do so). "There is no ~~other~~ technology that is able to discover explosives from such a distance” says David Vollmar(Well if Vollmar claims it, it must be true!Just don't ask him to prove it). He is the founder and owner(And Chief Fraudster) of Unival Group, a small, young company for security technology in Bonn. "The detection rate of HEDD1 is over 80 percent."(We made this number up, we can't prove it, and as you will see it will completely fail this test also)

But you have to know that Vollmar does not refer to scientific tests(Because he doesn't have any), but rather to more than 100 ~~presentations~~ (set ups) that were ~~organized~~ set up by Unival. If the 80 percent detection rate were really true(If only), the HEDD1 could solve many security problems in one swoop(Exactly, so why is it not in use the world over-Answer, because it is a scam). Self-made roadside bombs in Afghanistan? No problem. De-mining? Ditto. With HEDD1 the Detroit aeroplane bomber would never have slipped through the checks(yes he would). If it was up to Vollmar, the world would not discuss the use of body scanners at airports, but the HEDD1(The world is discussing the HEDD1 but as the fraud it is).

Why does it not?(Because it is a scam) Because many experts doubt that bomb detectors like HEDD1 are anything more but a self-deception of the user. In recent years, a whole group of models appearing very like dowsing/divining rods came on the market(You can never keep a good scam to yourself anymore), to detect explosives through the antenna swinging(Dowsing). The best(Worst) example is ATSC, a British company that has delivered a device called the ADE651 to Iraq. Among other things - the government in Baghdad bought more than 1,500 pieces at a price of up to 45,000 pounds.(See article about General Jabiri)

In January(2010), the company owner was arrested on suspicion of fraud(Still on bail). Inside the detector only simple RFID tags were found, as used, for example, in shops to prevent theft(Should stop the ADE651 from being stolen) . According to scientists from the University of Cambridge it is impossible for these tags to discover anything at all. Nobody knows how many people lost their lives at checkpoints(Certainly over 300), because the security forces relied on the ADE651.

Unival do not want to be associated with such charlatanism(Of course not). Now I want to convince myself of how the HEDD1 functions properly(Trust me you wont be able too). For this reason I hide two small explosive charges in the underground car park(Sneaky): a rifle cartridge and a pack with New Year's Eve firecrackers. Vollmar and Frank Trier, who is responsible for customer ~~training~~ (Fooling) at Unival, wait outside. They are convinced of the potential of their product(LOL): "In the next one to two years, we will have sold up to 3,000 units," says Vollmar(Even though they don't work as proven here). The cost of around 8000 € for an apparatus is almost a bargain(If it worked I would agree, but it is a scam): A body scanner is at least $ 150,000.

The predecessor(The Sniffex fraud, well documented) of HEDD1 was sold some 2000 times to 40 countries around the world, including to the Turkish army, the Iraq interior and defence ministries and the Italian border patrol - but also to the German Wisag, a service provider with approximately 20,000 employees. For a discussion of the detector there was no one available (at WISAG) on request(Embarrassment does that to people).

Behind the invention(?) of HEDD1 is a tinkerer named Yuri Markov(Wanted by the Police), a Bulgarian. For more than 15 years, the former telecommunications engineer has worked on the development of the system that was first marketed in the U.S. under the name "Sniffex" - and that the German company Unival now exclusively distributes as HEDD1. Markov will not reveal what technology exactly is behind it(Because there isn't any), For example, he does not say what is inside that metal container that is at the heart of the detector. Trade secret(LOL).

What he reveals is: The HEDD1 creates a "modulated magnetic field" if the magnets above and below the metal container set the substance in vibration(Bullshit warning). Additionally, a magnetic field is created around the explosive substance. In the event of magnetic fields overlapping, the antenna turns towards the direction of the bomb. The human body thereby acts as some sort of amplifier(So if all this is correct, the question has to be, Why does it NOT work?).

One(Of many) of Markov's harshest critics is the professional skeptic James Randi, a former magician and escape artist, who has made it his mission to expose charlatans and pseudo-scientists. Sniffex he calls "a fake, a fraud, a hoax." Unconscious self-deception of the user, are responsible for the movements of the device is a similar way to a seance glass moving. The U.S. Navy has proved him right. They tested the Sniffex after the bombings in London, the report appeared in 2008 on the research portal ProPublica. In one test scenario, two trucks laden with 500 kilos of explosives directly drove past the Sniffex. Reaction? None.(What else would you expect?) The result of the investigation: "The Sniffex hand held detector is not able to detect explosives.(Worlds greatest understatement)"

For Vollmar, however, the test does not speak against Sniffex(Of course not) but rather against the Navy(See list of excuses, excuse number 2, always blaim the operator) "The previous (Sniffex) devices were difficult to handle. The Navy has operated the equipment incorrectly(Unlike Vollmar and Trier as we will see). Under these conditions, the test does not succeed(Strange it never does under controlled tests, is this a design fault?)." In one photograph, published with the report, a man holds a ~~bomb detector~~ scam device in front of him like a revolver. Completely wrong, to do it that way. How to do it right?(How you hold the device is not important, it still wont work) Trier shows me during the search of the car park: Pull out the antenna, smoothly and direct it downwards(Quietly pray). Then he presses the device against the side of the chest and positions it forward(Sounds more like a rain dance). Like this, Trier walks in circles several times(IT IS a rain dance, no mention of having to face east?), to explore the terrain(To see if he can identify the hidden objects prior to the test).

What does the scientific community say about this? "I'm not an expert on magic wands or April Fools', grumbles a researcher who does not want to be named, but who himself has once worked on developing a bomb detector. Even for Franz Fujara, professor of Physics at the TU (Technical University) Darmstadt the whole thing appears "a bit obscure". "Scientific terms are indeed being used, but together they make no sense,(They are not meant to, they are to add to the scam)" says the physicist. The patent application of HEDD1 was "either very foolish or an insolence." The other four scientists with whom I speak are also more than skeptical. "We do not believe that one can detect such small magnetic fields at such distances," emailed me Hannes Toepfer, a professor of physics at the TU (Technical University) of Ilmenau(Strangely absent the names of the Scientific Professors who support Vollmar's claims). But Mr. Trier and Mr. Vollmar have now got the opportunity to convince me of the opposite.(dream on)

The antenna reacts for the first time and points very clearly towards a Mercedes(Bet it's wrong). "Before we now crawl on the floor – will you not want to clarify this,"(Translation-Have we got the right place?) asks Vollmar. But they can crawl endlessly: There is nothing hidden in the Mercedes(No, what could have gone wrong). Unless the driver maybe has firecrackers in the trunk. Now Vollmar also grabs himself a HEDD1 and joins the search(Frank not had enough training, enter the expert). This time, the antenna points at a car that is covered with a blue tarp. It's a bit like Hit the Pot (children´s game):(Only in this game people die) warm but not hot. The package with the firecrackers is under the car next to it. The next indication again is a blank(Why, it worked before). Vollmar picks up a traffic cone and looks behind a fire extinguisher(All free goes which wont count!!!).

Perhaps it is smarter to rely on conventional detectors(Or even coin flipping would give better results, as has been proven) instead of modulated magnetic fields(Absolutely), even if they do not guarantee complete security(Some security is better than none as with the HEDD1). At airports, for example, metal detectors and X-ray machines are being used. So-called egis devices analyze traces of compound gases that are often used with explosives. All these techniques have drawbacks, however: they are too slow, too prone to error, difficult to operate or they can only detect specific explosives. That is why intensive research on new technologies is done.

In the parking garage Vollmar is screwing up his last chance(Whatever could have gone wrong, this time?). Although the antenna is pointing in the right direction(Pure accident) - the last remaining corner of the parking garage(They have now exhausted every other possibility) - but when Trier walks down the line of cars, the antenna, again, does not point at the right car(Damn!). "That surprises me," mutters Trier(Only you Frank, nobody else). Vollmar explains(?): "We do not exactly know where to find the material(Honesty at last) we can only roughly ~~tell~~ guess and if you find something(Luck is on your side), you have to lock down the premises and call the bomb squad...(And pray)"

So far, hardly any Western agency acquired a HEDD1 or its predecessor. But Vollmar hopes that this will soon change(I bet he does). A German security agency is supposedly considering a purchase(I bet that consideration does not last long). Which one it is, he does not want to reveal(because they don't exist). The press offices of BKA (Federal Criminal Department) and BND (Federal Intelligence Agency) refuse to comment, and the Federal Office for Defense Technology procurement denies any interest.

Vollmar and Markov intend to further invest into the technology(There is no technology) in the coming years. A prototype for antibiotics has already been developed(LOL), says Markov. Detectors for chemical, biological and nuclear warfare agents are being planned(In their dreams). A silver bullet that is. Only the U.S. Department of Justice again makes everything look bad. Ten years ago it issued a warning: "Be wary of devices that use a pivoting rod, which is held almost horizontally, and which points at the sought material."(Spoilsports!)

No scientific test has ever confirmed the functioning of such devices(Correct). The description perfectly fits the HEDD1 – even though, at the time, it did not exist.

In the two reported tests that Vollmar and Trier have completed they have failed completely on both occasions, that is 100% failure as opposed to the 80% success rate claimed by Vollmar.

As they say, 'enquiries are continuing', but these are real ones, as opposed to the ones carried out by the plods!

It can sometimes appear strange how things always seem to come back around. Take for example, the old, Department for Trade and Industry, now renamed the, Department for Business, Innovation and Skills or just 'BIS'. We found a promotional advert for a forthcoming event the new, 'BIS' is promoting on the website of the old, Defence Manufacturers Association website, now renamed, The ADSgroup, or just, 'ADS'.
The promotion is called, 'MAKE IT IN GREAT BRITAIN'. It is unveiled by non other than,Business Secretary, Vince Cable and Business minister, Mark Prisk.
We immediately thought our good friends, Jim McCormick (ADE651 fraud) and Gary Bolton (GT200 fraud) would certainly be interested in getting behind and lending their support to this campaign. After all, Gary Bolton has had the kind assitance of the old 'DTI' before in promoting his first scam the, MOLE and then his second one the, GT200. Then there was his membership of the DMA that opened such doors as access to the Royal Engineers Export Support Team, whereby they went around the world promoting the wonder devices. Who could forget his appearance before Parliament to moan about the Government not doing enough to help his scam?
Bolton and McCormick both make their products in Great Britain so surely they are elligible, after all as I have pointed out the two organisations have had no problem promoting and supporting these scams in the past.

Captains of industry from world leading UK companies are backing a new Government campaign to highlight the best of modern British manufacturing at an exhibition during the Olympic Games.
Business Secretary Vince Cable and Business Minister Mark Prisk have today formally launched the Make it in Great Britain campaign, which aims to transform outdated views of UK manufacturing and dispel the myth that Britain ‘doesn’t make anything anymore’.
Senior traders such as Joe Greenwell from Ford of Britain, William Butler-Adams from Brompton Bicycles and Michael Ryan from Bombardier Aerospace are behind the campaign. They will act as the first ‘industry champions’ taking formal roles as part of the campaign and supporting its work.
The exhibition will take place at the Science Museum and will run from 24 July to 9 September 2012. The campaign builds on the already successful See Inside Manufacturing initiative and will celebrate the successes of the manufacturing sector and encourage young people to consider a career in the industry. There will also be a specific element, the Make it in Great Britain Challenge, focusing on new innovations yet to be brought to the market.
Business Secretary Vince Cable said:
“Manufacturing is our most exportable sector and is at the heart of our long term economic vision. We have outstanding manufacturing companies, both large and small and today I want to call on them to join us in being part of the Make it in Great Britain campaign.
“The Science Museum is home to some of the greatest technological advances in history, so what better place for us to exhibit the very best of British manufacturing as it stands today.”

After their previous support for the fraudster Gary Bolton let's hope they are more careful about who they give their support to in the future.
We will all support, 'Make it in Great Britain', let's just make sure that does not turn into, 'Scammed from Great Britain'.
It would be an example of how serious the 'BIS' and Mark Prisk in particular take the stain on our national defence and manufacturing industries, caused by their departments previous support for these frauds, that instead of a feeble ban on these devices to Iraq and Afghanistan only, they immediately made that ban worldwide.

In the years I have been campaigning against the swivelling aerial frauds I have heard a lot of silly statements muttered by the fraudsters in support of their scam, but none to match the recent ridiculous statement from the MD of Unival(Germany) David Vollmar (seller of the ridiculous HEDD1) in his latest email exchange with one of our supporters.

Vollmar has suggested that our campaign, with its impact on his scam device the HEDD1, is actually putting lives at risk by putting off potential customers. Well of course we see it differently, we think lives are actually being saved, with the added bonus that money that would have been paid into the Unival scam can be put into proven bomb detecting equipment.
It may be interesting to plot Vollmar's timescale of his involvement in this fraud. Vollmar initially bought into the original Sniffex scam (just Google Sniffex) shortly after its exposure in the USA and the fraudsters fled justice there.

As a result of the Sniffex being exposed as a fraud Vollmar renamed it, 'Sniffex Plus', 'Plus' what we we're never told, but sceptics made suggestions too numerous to publish here. Vollmar even went as far as to claim that he would take the, RANDI challenge (don't they all at some stage) After some baiting by the campaign Vollmar joined the, 'Legal Threats Club' and issued his first legal threat against us. When we called his bluff he then stated his 'legal advice' is that it would not be 'viable', funny they did not advise him about selling fraudulent products, maybe they did and he forgot to mention that. Anyway, 'Sniffex Plus' bombed (sorry could not resist that) and it was clearly time for a new branding, step forward the wonderful, HEDD1(Haven't we heard of other fraudsters re branding to escape previous exposures, Gary?) Anyway, the HEDD1 comes with all the usual secret test reports, very shy Governments, and specialist military units that don't wish to advertise the fact they have this wonderful device. They clearly don't want to deter any would be teorrorists by letting them know the HEDD1 is out there. If word should get out, they could adopt the ADE651 method of operation, and let a couple of hundred people get blown to bits so that the terrorists think it is a complete crock of shit. Its worked for the ADE651 so why not the HEDD1, as these fraudsters all use each others excuses why not share the failures?

Below is a Youtube copy of a television programme that was broadcast in Thailand. It shows David Vollmar and his toy soldier, Frank Trier trying to find three lots of various explosives hidden in five different boxes, random chance would give you at least two of the hidden explosives, so how did the wonderful HEDD1 perform when used by the company experts?

At, 3 minutes and 15 seconds into the video - The second 'identified box' is shown to be empty.
Have you worked it out yet? 3 boxes left, they must all contain explosives and yes, at 3 minutes and 20 seconds, SUCCESS, the magical HEDD1 finds the explosives, Vollmar rushes to the cameras to be photographed holding the 'found' explosive. But, hold on a minute, what is this happening at, 3 minutes and 40 seconds, Oh No disaster, the Thais have clearly unbeknown to Vollmar and Trier, hidden more explosives in the room and not told them about it, even though Vollmar and Trier had 'sweeped' the complete room the HEDD1 gave no indication of this untold about explosive. What could have gone wrong? Well at 4 minutes and 53 seconds, Frank Trier gives us a full explanation for the resulting failure of the HEDD1 to detect the 'secret stash' of explosives, he tells us, "It's not fair". “The bad guy and mastermind is Jim McTavish, CEO of a company called ATCC Ltd. (who could this be?) His accomplice is the marketing guy who actually pitches the scam, his brother Roger. That’s Roger’s picture on the right.”
“After this meeting,” interjected Lindsley,“you will need to get briefed by Naval Security. They expect you this afternoon.”
Steck nodded. He made a mental note to have two of his guys join him for that briefing.
Greg continued, “ATCC started out as a front for illegal arms trade. A couple of years ago, when the Joint task force to counter the threat of improvised explosive devices was doling out money to any company with an idea how to save lives in Iraq, Jim McTavish approached them with a device that he claimed could detect explosives from a distance. The Army bought some of them to try out but after testing the devices decided the scheme had no technical merit. Later, McTavish protested that he had created an engineering and manufacturing company that developed a new and improved version of the system which performed well, but the Army chose not to go any further. Undaunted, the McTavish brothers set up manufacturing in England, moving away from arms trade to the more lucrative military systems business.
The difference between ATCC and legitimate firms like BAE and Lockheed-Martin is that the so-called high tech products of ATCC don’t work. This is where the guy on screen came in. Roger McTavish created a sales pitch and quickly sold a bunch of systems to several third world countries. ATCC’s bogus systems have been used to legitimize the theft of millions from the coffers of third rate military establishments.
Here’s how it works; Roger McTavish identifies corrupt men with power over defense or security budgets and offers enormous bribes in return for orders placed on ATCC for high tech electronic ‘black boxes.’ The boxes are manufactured by ATCC and delivered to the buying countries as promised. The problem is that the boxes do not perform as advertised. Ashamed at being duped, the corrupt ministers usually cover up the whole scheme. In some cases, greed brings the most corrupt ones back for successive purchases of bogus equipment, all at considerable personal gain.(Sound like anyone we know? General Jabiri, perhaps?)
The problem is that every once in a while some legitimate business man or do-gooder tries to expose and spoil the schemes of the McTavish brothers. (Thank you for the acknowledgement) That’s where Roche and others like him come in. There’s always a smart former security operative turned soldier of fortune ready to dispose of such situations. Stig Ahmdahl was one of those situations. Paul Roche was the solution.
“What is this bogus system?” Steck asked.
“It’s called ASD-200 ,(surely they cannot be talking about the ADE651)
” Greg continued, clicking to the next slide. The slide showed a photo of an Iraqi security guard holding a black handle that looked like a pistol grip with a hole in it. Through the hole was a right-angled rod. One end of the rod stuck out like the barrel of a pistol over the top of the grip. The other end protruded through the grip and pointed at the ground. From the bottom of the grip a piece of cable ran to connect with a ‘black box’ about the size of a small ice cooler. (sound familiar to readers of this blog?) Arrows and legends on the slide named some of the components of this odd looking system, such as battery pack, interconnect cable set, gripand electrostatic ion sensor.
“This thing is reminiscent of the divining rod contraptions used by some folks back in early times to find water,”announced Mort Lindsley. “I had an uncle who claimed he was a diviner. Fact is when I held his rods nothing ever happened. When Uncle Cletus took them himself and walked around a while, the son-of-a-gun would usually find some kind of water, even if it was a brook in plain sight of everybody. Having done this, ol’ Cletus would announce that the rods took him right to the water.”
Steck had to repress a chuckle at the blank stares Mort was getting from around the room.
Undaunted, Mort continued, “My daddy told us kids that Cletus was a little off in the head. He also admonished us not to make fun of him. I think that’s because daddy never could explain how Uncle Cletus found the spot to dig the well in our back yard. None of our neighbors could find enough water in those days, but that well in our yard still gives nice fresh water after more than fifty years.”
After a pause punctuated by ripples of tentative laughter Greg continued. “On this next slide you can see that the ASD-200 is claimed to be able to identify all sorts of contraband from close up or even at great distances.”
The slide proclaimed that the device can find guns, ammunition, drugs, truffles, oil, water, human bodies and even contraband ivory at distances up to a kilometer, underground, through walls, underwater or even from airplanes flying at three thousand feet. This time Steck had to let his repressed chuckle come forth, more like a guffaw. “You mean it doesn’t double as a Geiger counter?” he blurted.
The academic in Greg Liss failed to appreciate Steck’s tone. Soberly he announced, “We have no reports that the manufacturer has made that claim.”
Steck rolled his eyes at Lindsley, who waved him off with a gesture.
Greg clicked to the next slide. “The claim by the scammers is that the system uses the so-called ‘science of electrostatic ion attraction’ as its basis of operation. They claim the theories are well supported in literature among engineers and scientists worldwide. However, the Army could find no such literature and ATCC Ltd has never furnished any theoretical proof of their claims. They have replied to queries that the technology of their device is proprietary and that they will not release it due to potential theft by competitors.”
Bob Steck leaned forward in his chair. He held out his hands palms up, as if to say ‘I don’t get it.’ “So who in the world is gullible enough to believe this rubbish?” (see previous lists) he asked.
“Here’s where the talents of Roger McTavish really come into play,” Susan Liss declared. “After he identifies and reels in his mark, usually some high placed cabinet minister who can be corrupted, he personally demonstrates the system to the mark. If the mark is suspicious, he trains someone of the mark’s choosing to use the system, usually with good results. The mark is convinced, starts the procurement cycle and the transaction takes place. From that point forward, the mark becomes complicit in the scheme and everybody is locked in.”
Steck had to repress a chuckle at the blank stares Mort was getting from around the room."

HAVE THE THAI'S BREACHED THEIR CONTRACT?

This is an open letter to Gary Bolton of Global Technical and 'inventor' of the GT200 detection device.

Gary,
        We are led to believe, in the contracts you make the ~~mugs~~ sorry, I meant customers sign, you have the following clauses:

1)   The GT200 must on no account be opened by the customer.
2)   The 'detection cards' must on no account be opened by the customer.
3)   The GT200 must never be subject to a double blind test, or any other test whereby Global Technical or any of its agents cannot fiddle the results.
Can you confirm the existence of these clauses?
Also can you tell us for what reason you have these clauses? Is it because:

a)   All the magic within the GT200 will blow away if exposed?
b)   All the magic within the 'detection cards' will also blow away if exposed?
c)   The GT200, like your MOLE detector before it, will fail a double blind test?

Or

Is it simply that your scam would be exposed if any of the clauses were breached? Such as in the following video for example?

Perhaps you can get your 'pet' solicitors to give us some answers, unless you want to come out from under your rock and tell us yourself?

We have often wondered what the problem was with arresting Gary Bolton. As I have previously stated he is engaged in the same fraud that McCormick is, yet The City of London police don't feel they have enough evidence to even make an arrest. But, could there be another reason for the lack of enthusiasm on the part of the police to take some positive action against Bolton? Could it be perhaps the circles he moves in? We have him down as just a common fraudster that cares little for the lives of people relying on his GT200, but could powerful friends be protecting him from the unwanted attention of the police? Let's look at who some of his friends are and then decide:

Quite how Bolton managed to end up giving evidence is probably something we will never find out. He was introduced to the Panel by someone who described Bolton as a, 'colleague', by no less a person than, Major General Alan Sharman. Indeed Bolton was sharing the stage with some very illustrious company as the following shows:

Gary Bolton, on my left, is a Director of Global Technical Ltd which is a very small company, currently ineligible for ECGD cover generally. We have tried to bring a cross-section of a large company, a global company, a small company and myself to bat the general questions".

During the session Bolton was addressed directly by the chairman, Baron O'Neill, the following is direct from the minutes:

49." Mr Bolton, can you tell us the kind of sums that you were talking about, which seem not to reach the glass ceiling, as it were? What does your business do? Global Technical covers a multitude of activities, one would imagine."
(Mr Bolton) "Basically the main push we have now is a new type of drugs and explosives detection system."

Gary, you are a very naughty boy you have told lies to a parliamentary committee. The reason is that you have never had a, "drugs and explosives detection system", you knew then, as we all know now it is a complete scam and to suggest otherwise is just downright lies.

So, we are not talking the local chamber of commerce here, these guys are at the very top of the tree with the power to make things happen, or not. So we now know how Bolton got the services of the Royal Engineer Export Support Team, and the massive support of the then, Department for Trade and Industry (Why have none of them been arrested?). But for sheer power and influence let's look at Bolton's friend and 'colleague', Major general Sharman.

Superinjunctions and the Avon and Somerset Police

Who could have missed the frenzy over Ryan Giggs and his attempt to stifle the free press reporting on him? Well it is not only celebrities and high worth individuals who do not like criticism, step forward the Avon and Somerset Police. My latest blog piece criticizing the Avon and Somerset Police prompted a spiteful reaction from them, with the sole intention off stopping me criticizing them publicly. Well I have news for them, like Ryan Giggs their latest blunder has not worked and I will use this blog and other forums to continually highlight their incompetence.

Let's examine the timeline about how things have panned out:

Avon and Somerset Police allege they were investigating the activities of McCormick and ATSC 12 months before they arrested him. Well whatever enquiries they were making they obviously did not consult that well known clue giver, 'Google', because if they did they would have found a wealth of information to assist them. Anyway, the BBC Newsnight team told the Avon and Somerset Police that they were going to do, 'a piece' on McCormick and the infamous ADE651 some time before screening, call it coincidence if you believe in such things, but before the programme was shown, Avon and Somerset Police leaped into action and arrested McCormick.

For the rest of 2010 things moved slowly or not at all, fast forward to 2011 and the BBC Newsnight team do another piece regarding the ADE651 and the other stick on a swivel detectors, a short time later, purely by chance you understand, another arrest is made, no charges are made and as they say, 'enquiries are ongoing'.

It seems the motivating factor for action with the Avon and Somerset Police is publicity.

Earlier in this piece I mentioned Google and its lack of referal by the Avon and Somerset Police, for instance, had they consulted Google they might well have found out about the ADE651 being sold in Niger without me having to tell them. They might also have discovered about other sales in Saudi Arabia, Kenya and Hong Kong without me having to tell them.

Perhaps they might have found out about the widely published arrest of Major General Jabiri in Iraq (mentioned on this blog and numerous others too many to mention). Not least the worlds press and international television stations that broadcast details of the arrest, without me having to tell them.

Let's examine that statement a bit more closely, Jabiri was the main supporter of the ADE651 in Iraq, (sales $85M) He shouted down all and any criticism of the device from whatever quarter. It seems however his praise of the device was not linked to the performance of the ADE651, but more to his swelling bank account from the backhanders he received for buying the devices. Jabiri appeared on Iraqi national television with McCormick, after they were called to account over the murderous bombing campaign that had taken place in and around Baghdad in the previous few months. The ADE651 had proved totally ineffective in preventing these and any other attacks in Baghdad, to say the least people were concerned. Jabiri and McCormick gave what could only be described as a laughable demonstration of the alleged capabilities of the ADE651. You would have thought that General Jabiri would have been high on the radar of the Avon and Somerset Police, especially since he was arrested for corruption involving the ADE651. So did they discover about the arrest of Jabiri by grim faced steely eyed detective work? No, I had to tell them because they knew absolutely nothing about it.

I started this blog to highlight the danger that the stick on a swivel detectors pose to those who have been taken in by them, and those supposedly protected by them. I have had a reasonable amount of success in bringing about a greater awareness of these scam devices, both nationally and internationally, but it seems the hardest task is to get the Avon and Somerset Police to take some positive action.

In the time that the Avon and Somerset Police have been 'investigating' this matter over 300 people have been killed as a direct result of the failure of the ADE651.

So if anyone from the Avon and Somerset Police is reading this, and I know you do, read over that last statement again and realize these are just the reported deaths due to the failure of these scam devices. The first priority of the police is the protection of life, by blundering from one dead end to another can you really say you are fulfilling that obligation?

Why has Gary Bolton not been arrested and Jim McCormick charged?

As of today Gary Bolton of Global Technical, the 'inventor' and maker of the totally discredited GT200 remains free to carry on business as usual. The only restriction placed on him is by the UK Governments ban on the export of these scams to Iraq and Afghanistan. This will not bother Bolton as his main markets are in the Far East, so it really is business as usual for him.

Let’s examine the similarity between Gary Bolton and Jim McCormick:

Bolton and McCormick used to work together on another scam called the MOLE. Without the knowledge of Bolton, McCormick and his then partner Robert Balais approached the Sandia Laboratory in the US in an attempt to get the device approved. It will be no surprise to anyone here that the MOLE failed comprehensively. Any belief either of the men held before this test that the MOLE could detect explosives was surely at this stage completely destroyed. When Bolton found out about the test he promptly severed all links to McCormick and Balais. However, the damage had already been done to his product and the impact on sales was immediate. As a result Bolton changed the design and called the ‘new device’ the GT200. Based exactly on the same scam as HIS previous device the MOLE, so it is very safe to assume that he knows this certainly does not work.

Apart from the Sandia Laboratory report, he is also well aware that Thailand has conducted several tests on his GT200 and every time it has failed. The Thai Prime Minister was forced to announce on national television that the GT200 performed less than chance. Bolton makes reference to these tests on his website.

So, onto McCormick, he also knows that his ADE651 does not work, he was present at the test at the Sandia Laboratory, he is well aware that the ADE651 failed to detect large amounts of explosives in Iraq resulting in a massive loss of life. He should remember as he was called to account in Iraq. The ADE651 is nothing more than a redesigned GT200, they look the same, they perform the same, and they are the same. The only thing different is the name.

Now let us examine what has happened since:

We are asked to believe that the Avon and Somerset Police were looking at McCormick a full twelve months prior to the BBC Newsnight programme shown in January 2010. After twelve months investigation apparently there was then enough evidence to arrest McCormick on suspicion of fraud by misrepresentation. Seems fair enough and straight forward, but No, it is now sixteen months since that arrest, McCormick has been bailed several times but still no charges have been brought. So to recap, Avon and Somerset Police have been investigating this matter for nearly two and a half years and they still, apparently, don’t have enough evidence to charge McCormick? Even after the arrest in Iraq of General Jabiri on charges of corruption relating to the purchase of the ADE651. I don’t think the Nuremberg investigation and Trial took this long! I will leave people to draw their own conclusions from that.

Let us now move onto Bolton, he is being investigated by the City of London Police probably the experts in this type of investigation. A cursory check of the internet would show that there is a similar amount of evidence against both Bolton and McCormick. I assume both Police Forces have conducted their own tests to show both devices cannot work. The GT200, it is claimed, has also been responsible for loss of life in Thailand, again the device failed to detect hidden explosives and as a result people died. There is an absolute treasure trove of video evidence on the internet, some of which I have reproduced here on my blog that shows the GT200 is a total scam. Sadly, it seems even that is not enough for the City of London Police to at least arrest Bolton let alone charge him.

I accept that if you ask two people a question you can get two different answers, but surely these two Police Forces should be working together not going their separate ways. So there we have it, one Police Force the Avon and Somerset Force think there is enough evidence to arrest but not charge, the other, the City of London Police do not feel there is even enough evidence to make an arrest. What a total farce!

Let me try and explain something to you, I understand that you are embarrassed falling for a simple scam like the ADE651, I understand that you are a victim of a scam such as the ADE651, I understand that you believed everything a man currently on bail for fraud told you.
This may come as a bit of a shock, but I have to tell you he lied to you about the capabilities of the ADE651, the ADE651 does not and cannot work.
We have a saying in the UK, "Do not shoot the messenger". Meaning, your anger although directed at me is misplaced. Why is your anger not directed at McCormick? The man who lied to you and fooled you into believing a load of techno nonsense?
Surely at this stage you must know that the ADE651 is nothing more than a cheap scam?
I have given you more than enough evidence to convince the most stupid person, whilst you have managed to find none in support of your argument. Does that not tell you something?

You work for a company, Mira Telecom, until its association with ATSC and McCormick, was a well respected company, but now that is gone and you are left defending a product that is universally disgraced.

Why Does Romania Love the ADE651?

The reason I ask the question, is that when put under the spotlight most fraudsters run for cover but not our determined Romanians, let's examine the reasons why.
Well the most obvious answer is money, McCormick made the President of Mira Telecom, Romania a partner in his 'business', and therefore, the Romanians have shared the spoils of this massive fraud, so obviously money is more important to the Romanians than the massive loss of the life that the ADE651 has caused in Iraq.
I and others, most notably, Dubious Dick, have pointed out to the Romanians that the ADE651 does not and cannot work under any circumstances, the response from the Romanians is the threat of legal action (Still waiting) and personal attacks. Even when presented with the mass of evidence that exists on the internet alone that the ADE651 is a fraud, the Romanians carry on supporting it, why? Well low intelligence has been suggested and Romania is the most backward country in Europe, but can anybody be that stupid?
When I first started blogging about the ADE651 and the other sticks on swivels, I was attacked by McCormick who stated that if what he was doing was illegal, why had the authorities not taken action against him? Well, we now know that in early January 2010 he was arrested by Avon and Somerset Police for fraud regarding his ADE651, yet amazingly some fifteen months later he is STILL on bail and no charges have yet been made against him. The only thing the arrest of McCormick has accomplished is that he took himself off the various blogs and forums that he had been spouting his nonsense on.
Soon after the arrest of McCormick the excellent BBC Newsnight Team did a full exposure of the ADE651, with concrete evidence that the ADE651 could not work under any circumstances. The myth that the device could work with 'programmed cards' was technically taken apart by credible scientific means. The internet became alive with interest in this fraud that had made, $85M from the Iraq deal alone.
Further to that, the British authorities banned the export of the ADE651 to Iraq and Afghanistan, stating that it does not work.
The BBC Newsnight then did a follow up story regarding the ADE651 which was described by one expert as nothing more than a 'toy'.
So after such exposure who would now support the ridiculous ADE651, step forward the Romanians, at first I was engaged with a certain Romanian who used the Avatar Comtois/33 comtois(Who not surprisingly is an employee of Mira Telecom, Romania). This individuals defence of the ADE651 has bordered on the absolute ridiculous, he first believes that as there is no recorded double blind test to show that the ADE651 does not work, that means, to him anyway, it must work. I asked him why something that is being used in the serious business of detecting bombs and explosives has no recorded tests or official recognition, he could give no answer.
On the aforemnentioned BBC Newsnight programme his 'arguments' are numerous, first, the anti shoplifting tag used inside the 'programmed cards' that the scientist says cannot be programmed to do anything, let alone detect explosives, he has found on the internet, cards with magnetic strips that can be programmed, completely missing the point that they are nothing like the tags that McCormick uses in his cards. But the point that causes the most laughter is the one he makes regarding the reporter Caroline Hawley who near the end of the programme, where she is on the driveway of McCormick's house telling the camera, "there was no answer to her knockingt at the front door to the house", Comtois point is that because they never actually showed the knocking on the door it obviously did not happen, he went very quiet when I pointed out the 'magic' of film editing!
He has also suggested the reason for all the adverse publicity is, Mass Media Manipulation', when asked for his evidence to support that statement, or who this most powerful person is who is manipulating the worlds media, he again has no answer.
He has also suggested, 'BBC bias' again when asked for evidence to support that statement, or the reason as to why the BBC should have any bias against a fraud such as the ADE651, Yes you've guessed it, he has no answer. In fact the mere asking him for evidence to support his opinion usually means he runs away very quickly or mounts a personal attack, amazingly calling others stupid, for not believing a man on bail for fraud, for not believing in a bomb detector that has no evidence to show it works, for not believing in a website made by the aforementioned fraudster, for not believing in a bomb detector that failed in Iraq with the deaths of over 300 innocent Iraqis.
In our various battles, when asked for evidence that the ADE651 works, he usually goes quiet for a few days hoping I have forgotten the question, but I don't let him get away that easil,y and like the JREF challenge it is a stick with which I have beaten him many times.
You have to understand that the word these fraudsters fear the most, is the most important word in all of these things and that word is of course, 'EVIDENCE'.
I have also pointed out to him that he is a 'lone voice' in his support for the ADE651 anywhere in the world. His response was to then register various different named avatars on the forums most notably the BBC Newsnight Programme on Youtube. But, as always with the Romanian, he did not have the sense to 'spread them around the world' a bit, so his tactic was exposed and laughed at by various other posters, me included off course!
His most famous fake avatar was a character he called, 'Ernst Filibert' after his previous ribbing he decided to register this avatar in Amsterdam, to 'fool us', no that did not work either Comtois. Ernst' went on a total internet spamming mission to attract interest in the ATSC website (makers of the ADE651) to boost their Google ratings, this was seen through and poor old 'Ernst' quickly left the building when a REAL Dutch poster challenged Ernst to post in fluent Dutch, that was the end of Ernst and he has not been seen or heard of since.
Comtois, in his desperation tries to suggest that every poster that enters the forum is me using a fake avatar, now where would he get that idea from? He gave up on that suggestion when I pointed out to him that there are hundreds of thousands of people throughout the world equally derisive of his nonsense about the ADE651. However in support of the ADE651 there is only him, so I think I can leave it to people to work out who really needs to register fake avatars.
When that didn't work he was out of ideas for a while, then he came up with his most laughable suggestion to date, that my campaign is inspired by the fact that I must be selling a rival device, he made various suggestions as to what device but had to give up on that idea also when he realised, after I pointed it out to him of course, that I have attacked all the known makes of swivel stick detectors. But before anyone starts to feel sorry for this Romanian fraudster, just remember this, he will risk your life and the lives of others in exchange for money.
A summary of the questions the Romanians, like McCormick, find impossible to answer:

How do you programme a card that is impossible to programme?
Why, if as you claim the ADE651 can detect explosives at distance, are you scared of taking the RANDI challenge?
How did the alleged working principle change from EMA then to NQR, then back to EMA?, What changes were made to the ADE651 to accomodate these alleged changes?
Why are you so scared of independent testing of the ADE651?
Why would a reputable and honest company not sue the likes of the BBC, The British Government, James RANDI and a very long list of International newspapers, for calling their product, amongst other things, A Fraud, A Quack Device, A Scam.

If Comtois, or any of his various fake avatars wish to supply the answers to these questions, I will publish them in full, might be a long wait though. So after all that, why do the Romanians still support the ADE651?

The government began investigations after reports the ADE651 bomb detection devices purchased from a British-based company were practically useless.
“Major General Jihad al-Jabiri, the commander of the bomb squad, was arrested five days ago,” a senior police official close to the investigation told Reuters. “There are documents and incriminating evidence in the explosives detector case.”
An Iraq Supreme Judicial Council official confirmed Jabiri’s arrest on corruption charges but declined to provide details.
The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills announced in January 2010 it would ban exports to Iraq and Afghanistan of the ADE651 device. It is shaped like a pistol and features a swivelling antenna meant to point at explosives.
Iraqi lawmakers demanded security forces stop using them and that the government try to get its money back.
But some Iraqi officials have defended them, saying they have detected many bombs and munitions stockpiles.
Investigation revealed that Jabiri recommended that Iraq sign five contracts to supply security forces with the detectors for between 23,548.37 pounds and 34,702.86 pounds each even though the real cost of the devices is no more than 61.97 pounds, the senior official said.
The first contract, valued at about 11 million pounds, was signed in January 2007 and will be the first case taken to court, the official said.
“This is one of many cases that Jabiri is linked to regarding the same issue,” the official said.
The inspector general of the Interior Ministry, which controls the police, said he investigated the detectors two years ago and found them “inoperative” and costly. He recommended that Iraq should not buy the devices."

Iraqi Interior Ministry returns $20m to 2010 budget over explosive detector controversy

"Wednesday, February 2nd 2011 7:49 PM

Baghdad, Feb. 2 (AKnews) - The Inspector General’s office at the Interior Ministry said on Wednesday that it has returned 24bn Iraqi Dinars ($20m) to the state treasury after resolving mass corruption cases, including the issue of the ADE 651 explosive detectors.

The Iraqi Interior Ministry had previously announced earlier that a number of senior officers in the Interior Ministry were referred to the Iraqi justice on charges of buying the non-effective explosive detecting devices without revealing the identity of the officers involved.

The Inspector General at the ministry Aqil al- Turaihi told AKnews that his office had worked hard to return the funds lost through administrative and financial corruption.

"The staff of the Inspector General is working vigorously with all the illegal issues that lack integrity and non-observance of the controls that limit the spread of corruption," he said.

The Public Integrity committee revealed earlier that the Interior Minister in the previous government Jawad al-Bolani, prevented the Public Integrity committee in accordance with his powers to prosecute six senior officers from his ministry after being convicted of corruption for importing non-effecient explosives detectors.

The ADE 651 explosive detector was widely used by the Iraqi Police Service and the Iraqi Army. The Iraqi Interior Ministry bought 800 of the devices in 2008 for $32m and a further 700 in 2009 for $53m, in no-bid contracts with the UK-based manufacturer ATSC.

According to ATSC’s promotional material, the device is said to work on the principle of "electrostatic magnetic ion attraction". The ADE 651 consists of a swiveling antenna mounted via a hinge to a plastic handgrip. It requires no battery or other power source, its manufacturer stating that it is powered solely by the user's static electricity. To use the device, the operator must walk for a few moments to "charge" it before holding it at right angles to the body.

The Iraqi government paid up to $60,000 for the devices despite the purchase price being put at around $18,500. The Iraqi Army's Baghdad Operations Command announced in November 2009 that it had purchased another hundred of the devices.

Jim McCormick, Managing Director of ATSC has said that the devices were sold for $8,000 each, with the balance of the cost going on training and middlemen. According to CBS News at the time, the training included instructions to Iraqi users to "shuffle their feet to generate static electricity to make the things work."

According to an associate of ATSC, the devices were manufactured at a cost of $250 each by suppliers in Britain and Romania. The associate told The New York Times: "Everyone at ATSC knew there was nothing inside the ADE 651."

The use of the ADE 651 has prompted strong criticism and eventually led to a ban on the device's export from the UK to Iraq and Afghanistan and a criminal investigation of its manufacturer.

The Iraqi security forces' reliance on the device was highlighted by a New York Times investigation in November 2009, which reported that United States military and technical experts believed the device was useless.

The U.S. military revealed last year in a report that most of the explosives detectors imported by the Iraqi government were not valid for use and the contracts included financial corruption.

The Iraqi government subsequently formed an investigation committee to investigate the reality of what was published in the media, and the committee concluded that some of the equipment used for detecting explosives used at security checkpoints does not work and decided to return the ineffective devices immediately.

BUYERS GUIDE TO THE ADE651

For those of you thinking of buying into the scam known as the ADE651, there are some things you must ask yourself, and the salesman.
First, you need to decide which of the following do you fall into.

1) Are you stupid? This is probably the most important question to ask, because if you actually believe for one nano second that the ADE651 can actually detect explosives or drugs then you really are stupid. Ask the salesman why there is no documented evidence of testing by a credible organisation such as the, James RANDI Educational Foundation? The James RANDI Educational Foundation offered the Director of ATSC, James McCormick (Currently on bail for fraud in the UK) it's One Million Dollar Prize if he could prove that the ADE651 can perform how he claimed. McCormick refused the challenge, now ask yourself this, if McCormick has no faith in the ability of the ADE651 why should you? Remember that over 300 innocent Iraqis have lost their lives in the last 12 months as a direct result of the ADE651 failing to detect the suicide car bomber that subsequently blew them up.

2) Are you corrupt? If the answer to this question is yes, then the ADE651 is indeed the device for you. The ADE651 will enable you, as it did in Iraq, to fraudulently obtain massive funds from your own government whilst at the same time putting at risk the lives of thousands of your own people. The ADE651 has sold to most corrupt government around the world, however no western government has bought into the scam because of strict budget controls. So basically, you have to live and work in a tinpot country where corruption is an accepted way of life.

Having established which category you fall into, you might be concerned about the fact that there is NO evidence whatsoever that the ADE651 works as claimed, this is an absolute sticking point for the salesman, he may try and fool you with talk of, 'confidential test reports' carried out by honest governments, however these reports, glowing in praise of the ADE651, are not available to you because of 'client confidentiality'. You may have read the rather damning report in the New York Times:

You may have seen a programme broadcast by the BBC Newsnight team, whereby they opened one of the, 'special programmed detector cards' as they are called by McCormick, that are used to detect the various type of explosives that are in use around the world.

In that report they were found to contain nothing but electronic anti shoplifting tags, that cannot be programmed to detect anything, let alone explosives or drugs. In fact the only difference between the cards is the writing on the cards that tell you the different substances they are supposed to detect. You should definately ask the salesman about that.

You really need to ask the salesman why McCormick ran away from this simple test of the ADE651 ability?
Or, if how RANDI describes the ADE651 and the people involved is not true, why has McCormick not taken legal action against RANDI?

You may be concerned that the UK Government has banned the export of the ADE651 to Iraq and Afghanistan, calling the ADE651, "NOT SUITABLE FOR BOMB DETECTION", You may ask the salesman if McCormick is not going to sue RANDI for his comments then surely he will betaking legal action against the UK Government, if not why not?
I will give you the answer as to why McCormick will not sue any of the above because he will have to prove his ADE651 actually works and that is impossible.

You may be concerned that the alleged inventor of the ADE651, the aforementioned James McCormick has been arrested and is currently on bail for fraud regarding the ADE651.

The simple way to explain this technology is to take an inflated balloon and rub it on your hair. A static electric 'charge' is created, making the balloon 'attract' it to say, a wall or other flat surface. Provided there is enough 'charge', the balloon will remain 'attracted' to the wall for an indefinite amount of time. However, once the 'charge' has dissipated, the balloon will then 'unattached' itself and fall to the ground.

I understand tribo electricity and electrostatic attraction. However this seems to have no bearing on the techno babble being raised apart from raising the issue of distance. A balloon (which has much more inertia than an antenna) will show no discernible attraction to the wall if separated by more than a millimetre or so. This is common to electrostatic and electrodynamic attractions.

What the ADE does is create an 'attraction' between itself and the substance it wants to detect. With, (the substance recognition cards), the movement of an operator, an attracting field is created in the card reader that, in turn, causes the Direction Indicator of the ADE, (the antenna) to "lock onto" a signal, indicating the direction in which the substance can be located.

Why is operator movement mentioned? The ideomotor effect requires a human holding the dowsing rods but none of the electrodynamic techno babble has explained why the device can't be mounted.

When the electromagnetic signal of the substance that the ADE is searching for is located within its detection range, the ADE's receiving direction indicator, (the antenna), will move towards the direction of the existing substance.

Where does the power come from for the movement? Such movement requires energy.

Essentially the ADE functions like a hyper sensitive receiver. ATSC has incorporated EMA technology into its proprietary Substance Recognition Cards

No it hasn't, they've been taken apart and there's nothing in them except an electronic anti shoplifting tag that certainly cannot be programmed.

to specifically target either a specific substance, or group, or family of substances. For example, particularly in the case of Explosives, the Substance Recognition Card for "Plastic" can detect the family of Plastic Explosives including C4, C3, Semtex, etc.

Not in a double blind test it can't. As has been proven time and again.

The ADE is able to penetrate all known substances which may be used to "camouflage " the target substance because it will "lock" onto the programmed target substance only and will "bypass" any substance(s) that may be in between the target substance and the programmed ADE card.

Electromagnetic signals do no pass into or out of faraday cages. This claim is inconsistent with the claim to utilise an electromagnetic effect. Another example could be home-made explosives such as Ammonium Nitrate whereby the ADE could not distinguish the difference between this (as an explosive) and the same as used in farm fertiliser. Or, as far as the explanation given thus far, any other nitrogen containing compound, like the major constituent of air.

In essence, the ADE functions like a hyper sensitive receiver. As the ADE receives an attraction signal from the target substance, its Indicator moves across the Operators' body to form a 90 degree angle toward the direction of the substance.

Except in double blind tests.

Q: Is there anything that will stop or block the ADE from detecting substances?

A: To date, we have not found anything that will totally block or stop the substance signal being detected. As with any equipment, there are limitations as to its use and during training, the ADE provides some guidelines for its use. Provided these guidelines, (together with your operators training), are followed, you will have an effective tool enabling you to effectively & efficiently 'narrow' down the area of search allowing other search methods to be deployed in the successful detection of the searched substance. Used correctly, the ADE can detect substance(s) through walls, (even lead-lined and metal ones), water, (fresh and salted), fresh & frozen foods, (fish, fruit, tea, coffee, ice), vacuum flasks, containers, petrol & diesel fuel and even buried in earth (underground).

Which since all low power electromagnetic signals are blocked by faraday cages (like a fuel tank of vacuum flask) means the technological claims being made are inconsistent with this claim.

Q: Does the ADE emit any harmful rays or hazardous emissions?

A: No. There are no harmful rays or emissions from the ADE. The electromagnetic waves which work with ADE are very low intensity and low frequency. This, therefore, would be no different than operating say, a 2-way radio.

Low frequency means long wavelength. Nitrogen nuclei are small. Do you see the problem here? Also low frequency means low data capacity. How can a signature that is data rich enough to distinguish between all the different nitrogen compounds be carried on a low frequency wave?

Q: What is the maximum distance that the ADE can detect?

A: The name ADE was devised by taking the full name of the product, (Advanced Detection Equipment), with its initial 'test' distance, which was 650 meters. Hence, ADE650! However the best operational distance for detection in a optimum time is between 10-100m.

An elecrodynamic attraction strong enough to overcome the inertia of an antenna over a distance of 650m would be unfeasibly high powered.

Q: How can the ADE operate without any external power source?

A: Electrostatic electricity is very much misunderstood. The ADE does require power in order to operate. It requires a very high level of electric current but without amperage.

Amperage and current are exactly the same thing.

This is why it cannot currently be mounted in a stationary position to operate. The production of power is generated by the movement of the Operator and, as the Operator walks the perimeter of the defined search area, he (or she) generates electrostatic electricity.

Not usually. Does the operator have to moonwalk in rubber shoes? Will it only work where there are nylon carpets? Why choose such an unreliable power source? Does the device switch off if the operator isn't active enough, or if humidity is high? Wouldn't a battery be a better idea?

As one moves, you generate power which, at times, can be in excess of 2,000-3,000 or more Volts.

Power is measured in watts. The Voltage of the human skin with respect to earth is rarely that high. To draw power from it you must earth it or otherwise connect to a something of a different potential.

This in turn, powers the ADE.

This can't happen since the ADE is not earthed.

The ADE becomes active and starts to receive signals from the electromagnetic c signature code of the targeted substance.

Even if the ADE were earthed there's so little power generated through tribo electricity that even if the device were to convert all the available power to some sort of signal that would excite a nitrogen nucleous it would be a very weak signal. That signal power would be reduced with the cube of the distance between the device and the target substance. Even if the target substance converted all of the signal energy it received back into a return signal there wouldn't be enough power to move the antenna.
Let’s say we're trying to detect a hand grenade distance. Let’s be generous and say 10m.
Connect a bicycle to a electrical generator and a seasoned athlete can produce 300W for a short time. Obviously the amount of power generated by the inadvertent build up of static electricity is many orders of magnitude less but I'm being exceptionally generous.
Let’s say that all this power was converted to some electromagnetic signal. Nothing is that efficient but again I'm being generous. How much power would fall on the grenade?
Well the 300W would be spread out over the surface of a sphere 10m wide that's 1250 m2
The cross section of a grenade is around 0.005 square metres. So the grenade gets impacted with 1.2 milliwatts of power assuming no attenuation of the signal (which is generous to the max considering it's passing through 80% nitrogen, the very stuff it's supposed to interact with.
Lets be exceptionally generous again and say that this power is not radiated back out to the antenna with only some small fraction hitting the cross section but that all of it goes straight back to the antenna.
What we then have is a 1.2 milliwatt motor trying to move a 50cm long metal antenna. How quickly will the antenna move? It's not.
And remember that's being extremely generous. At 100m ten times the distance we're trying to move the antenna with a microwatt. Pick a real estimate for the amount of power produced by build up of static rather than the batshit insane overestimate of the maximum power a human can produce in ideal circumstance and we're in nanowatt territory.
Forget detecting explosives and drugs, if this works as stated it breaks the laws of thermodynamics and you've discovered free energy. You're putting in a milliwatt of power and getting a long metal arm to swing. Stick it between some drugs and a live shell the switch the cards back and for. Fix that antenna to a generator and you'll get out more than a milliwatt. With that sort of discovery you could put an end to war, with free energy everyone has all they need and there's no need to go to war over oil any more.
But that brings us back to the beginning. It doesn't work. And that's the main problem with the technology. It fails in the same way that the ideomotor effect fails. Which makes the people selling an promoting it responsible for all the death's associated with its use.

The ADE651 detector is the latest in a long list of products to use mind-boggling scientific terms to coax wide-eyed customers into coughing up. But when scientists are left flummoxed by the jargon, the chances are that the customer has been had. The device (ADE651) is said to work through “electrostatic magnetic attraction (or EMA)”. But as one Imperial College physicist put it: “EMA means bugger all to me.”

According to the makers’ website, the device works by “the long-range electrostatic attraction of highly charged ions”. Substances that it can be applied to include used weapons, fireworks, Semtex, plastic, TNT, cocaine, marijuana, ivory and banknotes. For a start, not many of the substances that it lists contain ions. And plastic, ivory and bank notes are not ferromagnetic.

Jim McCormick, the managing director of ATSC Ltd, a former Merseyside police officer, developed the device ten years ago despite having no scientific or technical background. (You would never have guessed)

It works on, ‘Electro Magnetic Ion Attraction’.

It now works on, ‘Nuclear Quadrupole Reasonance’. The principal (sic) by which our equipment works. (Priceless)

It’s now moved back to working on, ‘Electro Magnetic Ion Attraction’. (NQR not sexy enough)

(Thermo redox has even been used as a possible explanation, but that was discontinued when it was discovered that there were REAL detectors using that technology)

Just when you thought it could not get any better this happens:

‘If you aren’t just a spammer paid by the millionaire scam artist that makes this ‘device’, I invite you to take a screwdriver and crack it open. You’ll find a black plastic shell, a cheap telescopic antenna, and a five foot length of coaxial cable – all connected to an empty plastic box tied around your waist, all powered by nothing. If you know anything about electronics – or common sense for that matter – you’ll see why it isn’t possible for this device to work. Now if you do happen to be working for these scam artists, the least you could’ve done is put some flashing lights on the thing and make it vibrate or something.

A short time later in an interview with the press....

McCormick stated, "We have been dealing with doubters for 10 years. One of the problems we have is that the machine does look a little primitive. We are working on a new model that has flashing lights." (One of the better sayings that will surely go down in history)

McCormick goes on; ‘We will endeavour to use an internationally recognised Authority that will also be willing to go public with their findings, but please sure of this, it will not be anyone who has any remote association with the Randi organisation’. (Now why is that I wonder?)

In a direct challenge to “manufacturers, distributors and retailers”, Randi states: “ADE651 is a useless quack device which cannot perform any other function than separating naive persons from their money.

“It’s a fake, a scam, a swindle, and a blatant fraud. Prove me wrong and take the million dollars.”

McCormick responded with, ‘I have also been questions (sic) as to why I haven’t taken up the JREF $1 Million challenge. Well, firstly, I have no need of the money. Although I am a businessman, I am not solely doing this for the money, (although it helps), but I first developed this product to save lives’. (Hard to keep a straight face for this statement!)

Proof, if it were ever needed that even the fraud master himself, McCormick knows his scam device does not work; when he stated the following;

McCormick states; ‘The JREF ‘challenge’, again as I mentioned in other ‘blogs’, is designed to ensure the equipment, under their test conditions, will fail. I would be the first to admit that, if I were to take this challenge under their terms and conditions, I would not succeed’.

RANDI actually stated in the challenge that, ‘This Foundation will give you our million-dollar prize upon the successful testing of the ADE651® device. Such test can be performed by anyone, anywhere, under your conditions, by you or by any appointed person or persons, in direct satisfaction of any or all of the provisions laid out above by you’.

If McCormick is saying his device cannot pass a double blind test then he is saying it does not work. Bomb detection is a double blind test! He also fails to submit his own conditions for any test.

McCormick goes on to say; ‘I, or my company, do not have to prove to you or anyone else in the Randi organisation, that my technology works as; there is nothing but controversy in everything you see as ‘unbelievable’. (You couldn’t make this stuff up)

Now on to a true believer

“Whether it’s magic or scientific, what I care about is it detects bombs,” said Maj. Gen. Jehad al-Jabiri, head of the Ministry of the Interior’s General Directorate for Combating Explosives. (Where we would we be without this clown)

“I don’t care about Sandia or the Department of Justice or any of them,” General Jabiri said. “I know more about this issue than the Americans do. In fact, I know more about bombs than anyone in the world.” (No General, you spell B R I B E S like this, not b o m b s!)

During an interview on Tuesday, General Jabiri challenged a Times reporter to test the ADE 651, placing a grenade and a machine pistol in plain view in his office. Despite two attempts, the wand did not detect the weapons when used by the reporter but did so each time it was used by a policeman. (What could possibly have gone wrong we wonder?)

“You need more training,” the general said. (Ah, the good old default excuses, well done General, have another million $)

McCormick insists that ATSC “only” received $12 million, and the price paid ($85 million) was inflated by commissions and training courses for the operators. (No mention of the bribes though)

McCormick said, “The Saudis told us they used it to find the body of an American who had been beheaded and dumped in the desert. We asked for details but they said the information was classified.” (This statement has not been confirmed by the US or Saudi Arabia)( The old it is, ‘classified’ excuse(default), again)

The US Government says that during tests on a similar device it failed to detect a truck carrying a tonne of TNT when it drove up behind the operator. (What else would you expect?)

The most impressive thing about the ADE651, apart from its enormous price tag, is the black plastic suitcase it comes in. Jim McCormick, the explosive detector’s designer and manufacturer, is very proud of this case and its protective foam inserts. (The only true bit of equipment in the scam)

But it is not entirely clear why a device with only one moving part and no delicate electronic components needs such a high degree of protection. (OK, I’ll tell you, it is to bung up the price)

The device comes with a static meter to measure static levels in the operator’s body. Mr McCormick admitted that this did not actually mean anything. (Another gem)

Mr McCormick listed some of the reasons why his device might fail to detect explosives (Apart from being fraudulent you mean?) or be confused by “false positives”. (Very, very long list)

These include traces of agricultural fertiliser in the surrounding area, the proximity of anyone taking nitroglycerine-based medication, women with peroxide blonde hair(Very high incidence of false positives in Essex, UK), officers who had previously handled ammunition, lack of adequate training(Default excuse, see previous postings) and the tiny traces of explosive which must, presumably, be scattered all over Baghdad.

The gizmo can achieve those remarkable feats, McCormick said in interviews, thanks to a series of programmed "substance-detection cards" that are "designed to tune into the frequency" of the substance named on the card. (Read on for the reality)

However, Markus Kuhn, a computer science expert at Cambridge University, carefully dismantled a card "programmed" to spot TNT for the British broadcaster (BBC). Inside he found an anti-theft tag used to prevent shoplifting – one of the cheapest electrical components available. Kuhn said it was "impossible" that it could detect anything at all and that the card had "absolutely nothing to do with the detection of TNT."(Ouch, I bet that hurt, McCormick went missing after this was broadcast!!)

Government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh said that three Iraqi investigations into the devices determined most of the bomb detectors are working, although some are fake and ineffective. (No mention of how he knows which are fake and which simply don’t work)

Iraq's government fell for the jargon-laden sales pitch and bought some 1,500 ADE 651s, paying up to $60,000 for each device – even though ATSC was selling them elsewhere for $16,000.(Well, that’s the free market for you)

Interior Minister Jawad al-Bolani said Friday. "It is a business, the business of security. And there are other rival companies trying to belittle the efficiency of these instruments the government is buying."(Name these ‘rival companies’. No, didn’t think you could)

Another ministry official claimed the arrest of McCormick, who has since been freed on bail, was an act of revenge by Britain and the United States. "The reason the director of the company was arrested was not because the device doesn't work (Heaven forbid), but because he refused to divulge the secret of how it works to the British authorities and the Americans before them," (So he wouldn’t admit they are a scam, how wise) Assistant Deputy Interior Minister Gen. Tareq al-Asl told the al-Sharq al-Awsat newspaper. "I have tested it in practice and it works effectively and 100 percent reliably."(Really, perhaps he can offer his services to our troops in Afghanistan, by walking in front of them with this device, hello Minister, Minister, now where did he go?)

Iraq's prime minister, Nouri al-Maliki, ordered an investigation into the mass purchase of the gadgets. And the security and defense committee of Iraq's parliament is examining whether the tendering process was corrupt. (Corruption involved, surely not?)

“For the cost of an ATSC scanner, for example, the country could buy at least eight sniffer dogs. The animals may not look as high-tech as an ATSC wand, but their bomb-spotting skills are undisputed”. (Not much chance of a massive bribe either)

“It is meant to work on the same principle as water-divining rods and has no power source, relying instead on the static electricity generated by the movement of the person holding it”. (Speechless)

The British and American governments, numerous independent experts and repeated tests have shown that the ADE-651, manufactured by the ATSC Company in the UK, does not work. Jim McCormick, the managing director of ATSC, was arrested on suspicion of fraud in January, and the British Government banned the export of the ADE-651. (Not much to add to that statement is there?)

Many Iraqi policemen have ceased to believe that the ADE-651 works. Police Captain Hussein Ali says: "Time and again we have found it is useless." (Is this one of McCormick’s ‘real world testers’ he so often speaks about? (Probably needs more training!)

"We were told it was very modern and would free people from the fear of terrorism. Now we are embarrassed by it."(Surely not after spending all that money?)

Mustafa Emir, a student, said "The sonars (ADE651) are not useful and do not protect people. They should be given to the children as toys." (Very expensive toys)

Further to my post about the Romanians getting in on the scam, it would appear that they have taken exception to my use of their video on my blog. They have now pulled the video fom public viewing, Now why would they do that? My blog gets a reasonable amount of viewing traffic and any publicity has to be good publicity right? Wrong, except of course when you are trying to sell a scam. As can be seen after the exposure of Jim McCormick, he pulled his website, refused to answer calls and legged it. So the Romanians didn't like my exposure of their scam and are running away. Perhaps they are restricting viewing to just the, corrupt, the gullible or the plain stupid. Whatever the reason they clearly don't like it being exposed to the general public, ask yourself, now what sort of company acts that way?

The Secret Inside the GT200!!!!

The Thais have opened the 'detector card' that apparently directs the laughable GT200 to everything from explosives to drugs, it was found to contain a small piece of blank paper that is not capable of detecting anything. THE SECRET ROYAL ENGINEER 'TEST REPORT' ON THE MOLE DETECTOR

On the 10th of November 1999, the Royal Engineer Export Support Team carried out what they describe as a, 'test' of the MOLE drug and explosives detector. The MOLE as some of you may remember is the predecessor of the ridiculous GT200, marketed and sold by Gary Bolton of, Global Technical Ltd., a UK company.

It would appear that the Royal Engineer Export Support Team were completely fooled by this simple scam and gave the MOLE a glowing report, which I have reprinted below. This report was used by Global Technical to support their claims that the MOLE and then the GT200 actually worked as stated, that is until, Dubious Dick of the UK skeps site complained to the MOD, who then instructed BOLTON and Global Technical to remove all reference to it in their advertising.

The 'detector card' of the GT200 was recently opened as per a previous post on this blog and found to contain a small piece of blank paper, don't forget that this is the UPGRADED MOLE version, so what the MOLE 'detector cards' contained is anyones guess.

In publishing the 'test report', I have witheld some pages as they identify some of the soldiers involved, not to spare them any embarrassment but for their security.

The Most Stupid Man on Earth, Major General Jehad al-Jabiri (Iraq)

Take a long hard look at the man in the picture above, he is, Maj. Gen. Jehad al-Jabiri, head of the Iraqi Ministry of the Interior’s General Directorate for Combating Explosives. Without any shadow of a doubt he is the most stupid man on the planet earth.

To back up my statement about his stupidity just take a look at a few of the things he said to, Rod Nordland a reporter from the New York Times:

“I don’t care about Sandia or the Department of Justice or any of them,”
This was in response to being asked had he read the Sandia Lab report regarding dowsing rods being used for explosive detection.

“I know more about this issue than the Americans do. In fact, I know more about bombs than anyone in the world.”
This was in response to being asked if he had read what the American Military had said regarding the useless ADE651.

“Can you imagine dogs at all 400 checkpoints in Baghdad, The city would be a zoo.”
This was in response to being asked whether trained dogs would not have been a better buy.

This buffoon is charge of the Iraqi Department for combating explosives. He swears by the use of the ADE651 and actually believe it works, but he doesn't know how it works as he stated:

Says an awful lot about the amount of testing they allegedly did on the scam device, ADE651 if the person in charge has no idea how it is supposed to work. There are only two reasons why the General would speak so favourably of the ADE651 and they are:

1) He is stupid.

2) He is corrupt and accepted a very nice payment for the purchase of the scam devices.

Iraqi PM asks for patience after Baghdad bombings

BAGHDAD — The prime minister appealed Wednesday to Iraqis to stand by their security forces, even as angry lawmakers demanded answers and called on top officials to resign following the third massive attack against government sites since summer.

Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and his interior minister were expected to appear before a special parliamentary session Thursday to answer lawmakers' questions on how bombers once again found holes in security in heavily guarded central Baghdad, according to a spokesman for parliament's speaker.

On Wednesday, al-Maliki asked Iraqis for patience and warned against fomenting political divisions following Tuesday's string of suicide bombings that killed at least 127 people and wounded over 500 in the Iraqi capital.

"I call on the Iraqi people for more patience and steadfastness," he said in a televised address.

The deadly bombings raised tough questions for al-Maliki about the abilities of Iraq's security forces ahead of next year's withdrawal of U.S. combat troops. The U.S. military has warned of a possible rise in violence ahead of the March 7 parliamentary elections.

Ayad al-Samarie, the parliament speaker, called on the ministers of defense and interior as well as the commander of Baghdad military operations to appear before the special session, said Omar al-Mashhadani, the speaker's spokesman. Other security officials have also been asked to appear, he added.

Top security officials have been called twice before — and failed to show up — to answer questions in parliament about security lapses, after suicide bombers in August and October killed hundreds in attacks on other government buildings.

This time, Interior Minister Jawad al-Bolani agreed to attend the session under one condition — that it not be held behind closed doors, according to a statement released by his office. It was not known if other officials would attend.

Al-Maliki also was expected to attend the session, al-Mashhadani said.

The prime minister has so far not sacked any of this top security advisers, but there have been growing calls for resignations following the most recent attacks. Al-Maliki has been running for re-election on a platform of improved security, and any perceived security failures could cost him as well as his political party at the polls.

The U.S. military has said it will keep the bulk of its 120,000 troops in place in Iraq until after the election.

Abbas al-Bayati, the head of parliament's defense committee, said Iraq must have an emergency plan to deal with any violence ahead of the elections.

"The Iraqi people need convincing answers from the security commanders," al-Bayati told state run television. "If the security falls apart, then everything will collapse."

There have been no claims of responsibility for the latest attacks, though Iraq has claimed al-Qaida and loyalists of Saddam Hussein's Baath party were behind the August and October as well as the most recent bombings.

Al-Maliki appeared to demand that Syria must do more to stop senior Baath Party officials living on its territory from plotting attacks against Iraq. The prime minister has in the past accused Syria of harboring senior Baathists who masterminded attacks in Iraq. Syria denies the charges.

"I demand of the international community and all countries, including neighboring countries, who condemn the attacks to turn their words into actions and support the Iraqi people and the Iraqi government by confronting terrorism," al-Maliki said.

While violence has dramatically declined in Iraq, insurgents have continued with some regularity to launch attacks against security forces and civilians.

On Wednesday, there were scattered reports of violence across the capital.

A bomb attached to a minibus exploded in northern Baghdad, killing two and injuring 11, an Iraqi army official said.

A bomb hidden in a garbage heap killed two street sweepers and injured three passers-by in northern Baghdad, while an hour later in the same neighborhood a gunman killed a police officer at a checkpoint, police said.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to release the information.

Meanwhile, rescue operations were halted Wednesday around the labor and finance ministries as well as the court complex after crews completed their search through debris, said police Col. Safaa Saadi Jawad, the deputy head of the Interior Ministry's rescue operations.

"If we receive reports from families of missing people, we will look some more," he said.

Funerals were under way for bombing victims. Some families carried black flag-draped coffins through the streets, while others waited at the morgue to claim bodies authorities were still working to identify.

New York Times exposes the scam ADE651

The New York Times has exposed the ADE651 in Iraq as a complete fraud. The article published in todays paper shows the ADE651 to be totally ineffective in detecting explosives. Lt Colonel Hal Bidlack describes the device as, 'Nothing more than an explosives divining rod'.
Whilst it was further stated by, Major General Richard Rowe who oversees Iraqi Police training for the American Military, goes on to say, "I do not believe there is a majic wand that can detect explosives, if there was we would all be using it".
Meanwhile back in fantasy land the Iraqi Major General Jehad al-Jabiri clings to his bribe wih the following statement, "Whether its magic or scientific (he clearly does not know which) what I care about is it detects bombs".
The Major General then goes on to say, "I don't care about Sandia or the Department of Justice or any of them,(try not to laugh at the next bit) I know more about this issue than the Americans do.
In fact I know more about bombs than anyone in the world".

Colonel Bidlack sums up the situation when he says, 'When the say they are selling you something that will save your son or daughter on patrol, they've crossed an insupportable line into moral deparavity'. Read that statement again Mr Jim, he is talking about you!
Colonel Bidlack was further critical of the scam devices by saying, 'It would be laughable, except someone down the street from you is counting on this to keep bombs of the street'.
As a test, a guard and a driver for the New York Times drove through 9, YES 9 checkpoints were the ADE was deployed and it failed (not surprisingly to those of us who know about this scam) to detect the ak47s and ammunition inside the vehicle.That alone speaks volumes for these devices.

Thank you for your letter of 28 January which you wrote in response to an anonymous letter you received about the promotion of GT200 by Global Technical Ltd and the alleged misuse of an MOD establishment. I am sorry that this reply has taken some time, but my officials have had to go back some ten years into our records and consult UKTI. I am grateful to you for drawing this to my attention and enabling us to investigate this matter.

I should first explain that GT200 is not in-service with our Armed Forces, nor has it ever been. Whilst the MOD is aware of GT 200 it has not been considered to satisfy any of the capabilities we need. Consequently, we have not formally trialled GT 200 and I am therefore not in a position to comment on its effectiveness.
Your second point concerned government involvement in the promotion of the product. In April 2008 the responsibility for delivering government support to defence exports was transferred from the MOD to UKTI. The UKTI Defence and Security Organisation (UKTI DSO), like its predecessor, the Defence Export Services Organisation (DESO), includes an Export Support Team (EST), comprising of serving military personnel provided by the MOD. EST provide specialist military expertise and advice to UK-based companies who plan to export their products.

I have established that previously there was a DESO EST based at RSME Chatham. In 1999 that EST undertook an assessment of GT200 on behalf of Global Technical Ltd and produced a report that was described as a ‘trial’. It should not have been described in that way as it did not meet the MOD criteria for a formal trial. Separate Army Trials and Development Units exist for that purpose.

Your correspondent says that the Global Technical website claims government support for their equipment. Evaluations of equipment are carried out by EST personnel for internal company use only and current instruction to the EST emphasises that they are not to be used by companies in any form of marketing. UKTI DSO is taking legal advice to be able to include a form of wording on all reports produced to retain ownership of their contents and to ensure a company cannot use an EST evaluation to promote their product. In this particular case, UKTI DSO will be asking the company not to use the 1999 report to promote their product. They will also request that any reference to MOD or UKTI endorsement in their literature and on their website be removed.
You also raised the matter of the alleged misuse of MOD facilities at Chatham. Notwithstanding the status of the 1999 report, I can find no evidence to suggest that it was inappropriate for an EST to conduct a product assessment on MOD property. However, simply because an assessment took place at an MOD establishment should not be taken to infer that it was a formal MOD trial. I believe that any subsequent use of the evaluation report should have been better controlled. Changes have taken place since 1999 and as I have mentioned, UKTI is taking advice to ensure that the purpose for which its reports are provided is clearly understood.

To give people an idea of how sick and how low the people behind these scam devices are, check out the ATSC posting on youtube.
They have only combined the tragic events of July the 7th 2005 into their advertising campaign for their scam devices.
The inference being, of course, that the deployment of the ADE651 could in some way have prevented that tragedy.
The reality is that the British, and American Governments have seen right through their scam equipment and neither, the military, Police, Customs or Security Services have even remotely for one minute considered buying into this scam, for those considering a purchase of this equipment think about that and ask yourselves why? Or perhaps more importantly ask the scam salesman why? Should be an interesting answer!!!
Gary Bolton, of Global Technical (GT200) tried to tie his company to some sort of Government approval, but after the intervention of, Dubious Dick was told by the Government to remove any reference to any UK approval for his scam device.
The ATSC advertisement goes on to feature a piece featuring that famous liar and fraud the previous UK Prime Minister, Tony Blair, I bet even he would draw the line at being linked to this scam, no matter how much money he was paid.
Mr Jim, you are a very sick individual and should seek medical help immediately, you owe all those people that lost loved ones or were seriously injured a very big apology for linking your scam device to their grief.

This type of equipment has only undergone one serious test and that was at the, Sandia Laboratory in the USA. I have already reported how spectacularly these devices failed that test.

From time to time, there are new devices that enter the market. Most companies make reasonable claims, and their products are based on solid scientific principles. Claims for some other devices may seem unreasonable or may not appear to be based on solid scientific principles.
An old truism that continues to offer good advice is “If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is not true.”
If there are any questions as to the validity of a device, caution should be used and
thorough research must be performed before a purchase is made. Money can be wasted and even lives may be risked. Although there may be other types of nonoperational devices around, dowsing devices for explosives detection have emerged during the past couple of years.
Modern dowsers have been developing various new methods to add discrimination to their devices. These new methods include molecular frequency discrimination (MFD) and harmonic induction discrimination (HID). MFD has taken the form of everything from placing a xerox copy of a Poloroid photograph of the desired material into the handle of the device, to using dowsing rods in conjunction with frequency generation electronics (function generators). None of these
attempts to create devices that can detect specific materials such as explosives (or any
materials for that matter) have been proven successful in controlled double-blind scientific
tests. In fact, all testing of these inventions has shown these devices to perform no better than random chance.
Mostly these devices are used to locate water and now are used extensively by treasure hunters
looking for gold and silver. In recent years some makers of these dowsing devices have attempted to cross over from treasure hunting to the areas of contraband detection, search and
rescue, and law enforcement. The Quadro Tracker is one notable example of this cross-over
attempt. This device was advertised as being a serious technology with a realistic sounding
description of how it worked (close examination showed serious errors in the scientific sounding
description). Fortunately, the National Institute of Justice investigated this company and stopped the sale of this device for these purposes, but not before many law enforcement agencies and school districts wasted public funds on the purchase of these devices.
Things to look for when dealing with “new technologies” that may well be a dowsing device are words like molecular frequency discrimination, harmonic induction discrimination, and claims of detecting small objects at large distances. Many of these devices require no power to operate (most real technology requires power). Suspect any device that uses a swinging rod that is held nearly level, pivots freely and “indicates” the material being sought by pointing at it.
Advertisements that feature several testimonials by “satisfied users,” and statements about pending tests by scientific and regulatory agencies (but have just not happened yet) may be indications that the device has not been proven to work. Statements that the device must be held by a human to operate usually indicate dowsing devices. Statements that the device requires extensive training by the factory, the device is difficult to use, and not everyone can use the device, are often made to allow the manufacturer a way of blaming the operator for the device’s failure to work.
Another often used diversion is that scientists and engineers cannot understand the operation of the device or the device operates on principles that have been lost or forgotten by the scientific community.
In general, any legitimate manufacturer of contraband detection equipment will eagerly seek
evaluation of their device’s performance by scientific and engineering laboratories.

'Due to the nature of the technology upon which GT200 is built, it would be impossible for it to detect a substance that it is not programmed to detect. In other words, if the GT200 obtain a lock on an area for substance that the GT200 is searching for, and a "close-in" search using Canines or IMS portable equipment turns up nothing, it does not mean that the GT200 produced a false positive'.

Translation:

We know this device is crap and has no better chance than using a coathanger for the detection of drugs and explosives.
However, if you cannot find anything after obtaining, 'the lock', it is not the fault of the GT200. If you or your comrades should get blown to hell using this equipment, that is not our fault either, we call that, 'human error'.

A Disturbing Update

As the title suggests there has been a disturbing update in the mission to expose these scammers, from a company, EK9 that sells and markets the GT200, the following quote:-

The company has been at the forefront of the development of stand off technology for the detection of Narcotics, Explosives and Weapons. The GT200 has been continually upgraded and improved during its lifetime and now is the most reliable and advanced system of it’s type. Many other similar systems have appeared on the market in an attempt to mimic the success of the GT200, but the quality, reliability and range of substances that can be detected by the GT200, are far in excess of the competing system.
Reference
Two test reports are available that confirm the effectiveness of our technology. One is from the British Army and relates to the search of explosives. The report confirms the technology is ideally suited to stand off detection of explosives. This is an important reference from the Royal Engineers who are the foremost authority in the UK for explosives search and disposal, having gained experience from the troubles in Northern Ireland and operations around the world. The second report is from the Netherlands Ministry of Defence relating to the East Caribbean Task Force operations for narcotic interdiction. The report details the effectiveness of the system in sea and air operations'.

This is indeed a worrying development with the mention of the British Army.

If it works why not have it tested?

There has recently been a lot of blogging regarding the equipment made by ATSC (ade651) and Global Technical (GT200). A challenge has been made to the ade651 by the James Randi Foundation, that if it can be proved, under test conditions, that it does what it says it does, then ATSC will win the $1,000,000.
Of course, as James Randi predicted, ATSC have not taken up the challenge. We are then treated to the most ridiculous excuses, 'I have no need of the million dollars', etc.
ATSC state that the JREF challenge is designed to fail their product, if the actual challenge is read, it is merely a test of what ATSC state their equipment is capable off.
So what is the problem, the problem is that without shame ATSC and Global Technical are selling this equipment to countries that don't have proper safeguards in equipment they purchase. It will be noted that the UK and US governments have not purchased, surely if it was as good as stated, these companies home market would be their first customers. The reality is that these companies know what they are selling is fake and that the UK market is perhaps a bit too close to home.
Unlike the ADE651.blogspot anyone may post on here and ALL posts will be allowed.
